Revitalising under-eye treatment

For a great revitalising under-eye cream, add 1 drop of Sandalwood and 1 drop of Lavender to 30mls of your chosen carrier cream, lotion or gel and mix together well. Sandalwood is an ideal choice due to its renowned moisurising properties and it smells great with Lavender.

Palmarosa is also an excellent essential oil for facial treatments because of its hydrating and rejuvenating effects, plus it too blends well with Sandalwood. Other valuable oils that can be used around the delicate eye area include Roman Chamomile for its soothing effect, Geranium for its sebum balancing properties and of course, rejuvenating Rose and Neroli which smell exquisite.

Before starting any eye treatment you should thoroughly cleanse and dry your face to help with the absorption of the nutritious oils. When applying your blend, just place a few dots under the eye socket area and gently tap it towards the top of the cheekbones. Repeat the same method under the eyebrow area, but avoid getting any blend onto the eyelids since it can smudge onto the eyelashes and then into the eyes.

Essential oils should only ever be used in a very, very low concentration on the skin around the eyes, so please take care. Never use more than 1 drop of essential oil to every 15mls of carrier (for eye area I suggest rosehip or jojoba) and apply only once a day. When using Aloe Gel as a carrier base there’s no need to rub the blend into your skin because it will spread due to the heat and absorb naturally.

If you want to keep your skin young looking then treat this area of skin with the greatest of respect at all times. It really will pay off for you in the long run.
